Early teen parents
When I was a bit younger I had a friend whose 11 year old sister already started having sex. I'm not sure if there were legal implications as both her and her 'boyfriend' were roughly the same age.

At the 'mature' age of 12 she fell pregnant and she had the baby. The way they worked is was that her parents raised the baby more as the girl's sister.

The scary thing is that that was not the 1st time I've heard of people doing this. Anybody else know of cases like this ?

Yes I have heard of cases like this. I think if the child is very young and cannot raise a child on her own it could work and be what is best for the child (young teen) and the baby. Each situation is different.

I really think that here all egos should be put on hold and the best welfare of the child should be considered, be it with the mother or grandparents.

I have heard of this happening before. It is very sad. The only good thing is that the family is there to care for and support the baby.

at 11 the mother is still a child, her parents have a responsibility over both of them, and as far as the new father is concerned, I'd say that is up to the two sets of parents to decide what his involvment will be.

a lot of role the parents play..because if they give courage to the teenage daughter..she can raise up the kid..

You see this happening more and more these days. As a older adult I would be right there to help my child. But I know for a fact that it would not be easy. I think the older you get the harder it would be.

That is just so scary that at eleven kids are having sex to begin with. But I think what the parent's did was a good option. I mean there is no way an eleven year old is going to be able to support and raise a baby.

I knew a 12 year old girl at my school who was raped, and as a result, she got pregnant. Her parents decided that it was best that they raise the child as her brother/sister (can't remember) instead of as a child. It worked out better for the family that way, and that allowed the girl to have a more normal teenage life.
