I've tried to explain the burning, "need to eat" feeling to those who have never had it. All I can say is that, evolutionarily, my kids would have been better off than those of the moms that were able to gain exactly 25 pounds over the pregnancy. I could have ran them down and ate them

You sure it is not just hunger dad2b.....lol?
The adverts on T.V always show women eating weird things like jam and fish. From whateveryone is saying on here that ain't strictly true.

I had alot of different cravings with each of my four children. All of them had chocolate in common among other things like cheese and meatloaf. Mashed potatoes and lots of other veggies was with my daughter and now she loves all her veggies!!

My aboslute favorite thing in the world when I was pregnant was Funions (onion ring potato chips) and pickles. Together. I also loved hot wings and chocolate.

I craved baked potatoes, loaded with EVERYTHING, chocolate malts, and strawberry poptarts. Oh, and anything spicy - I went through so much salsa!

With my oldest, I craved jalapeno nacho cheese. You know the kind you can get in big cans at some grocery stores. I think my mom had to buy one of those huge cans every 2 weeks when we went grocery shopping. Also with my first, I ate a whole large pizza by myself. I still can't believe I did that.

With my 2 year old, I craved medium rare steaks. Usually my steak has to be done, I don't like it still pink in the middle. But with her, I had to have it pink in the middle. I wouldn't eat it any other way. My husband got some steak at a restaurant one night & I got a shrimp fettuccine, I ended up eating half his steak after eating my fettuccine.

I don't remember any real cravings with my 6 month old though.
