Sodium seems to help a lot of different kinds of tummyaches and nausea, yes. For me, I never really liked crackers and I was thrilled to find out that a few chips did the same thing in making me feel better. I'm NOT recommending anyone do that ... just saying what I did personally, right or wrong.

One trick that seemed to work a bit in the morning was to have a glass of water and a little bowl of saltines or other bland crackers on my bedside table. Fortunately, I was able to take my time getting up and I sipped the water and nibbled the crackers before I got out of bed.

I had morning sickness too and it was most unpleasant. It's even worse when you work in a job with the public the way I did back then and have to beat a hasty retreat at a moment's notice. I had it all day though, not just in the morning. It could strike anytime.

Anything that's plain will help settle your stomach. Out of everything I tried, I found dry toast worked best or a bowl of custard if it was later in the day and I felt like making it.

I suffered with morning, afternoon and evening sickness with my second. Any sort of bad smell would put me off and make me ill. It got to one point where I couldnt even take out the bins.

I was never sick, but I felt nauseous a lot. I found that Gaviscon helped - I used the tablets when I was travelling in the car as I found I got very queasy in the car.

I found that the best thing to stop the sick feeling was to eat. I used to find that sucking sweets helped.

My first two pregnancies, I was always sick. The first time I was pregnant I was new to it all, and I thought that it was controllable. So I didn't worry about eating out, eating in restaurants and in other public places. I only found out too late that once the food comes back up, there is absolutely no controlling it and there is only one way for it to go - out!

And so during my first pregnancy, I always humiliated myself because I was always caught off-guard, either vomiting inside a restaurant (oh yes, been there, done that) or other crowded places.
I was 16 so I was always out with my boyfriend at that time, wherever he'd go, I go.. And it just didn't turn out so well because it was like I was leaving this trail of vomit in every corner, sidewalk, street I'd pass. Now that I think about it, it seems kind of hilarious (but mind you, I was always crying then because every time I'd vomit I'd be humiliated).

On my second pregnancy, I knew how to avoid the humiliation and I was already more mature (21-22 years old). I'd eat at home, and stayed mostly at home. I still got morning sickness a lot but at least no more trails of me were found downtown (LOL).

Right now, this is my third pregnancy and I was very surprised because I experienced no morning sickness at all, which is very unlikely for me because I am the "morning sickness queen". Now I am on my 8th month, and I'm happy to say that this one has gone a lot smoother than my past two pregnancies where I was always on the verge of vomiting.

I am glad that you have not had to suffer so much this time. They say that you are less sick with boys don't they? I guess you were sick with your last two and if I am right you had one of each? So I suppose that saying isn't right!!

Yes, my first child was a girl and my second one was a boy, so basically what they say isn't always true? I had morning sickness during both pregnancies, after all.

However, I sure hope they're wrong because this is my 3rd pregnancy and I'm hoping for it to be a girl again, and since I've had not experienced morning sickness with this one, I can only hope that they are greatly mistaken.
