No but I had some friends who were home schooled for the first several years of school. They were ahead of their peers when the came to public school.

I do the homeschooling during the summer while they can still learn and not forget things. I have two special children and have thought about homeschooling them but haven't done it yet. I am testing it out during the summer to see how well we do. Do some research on it and join some groups that talk about it and see if its for you. Good luck with it.

Just a technical question. Are you even allowed to home-school your children? Do you have to be registered as an educational institution before they let you do that?

My niece and nephew were homeschooled until they chose to go to regular schools. They are very bright kids and think "out of the box" more so than most kids. However, for them adjusting to normal school days and work proved to be very difficult. On the other side my aunt has homeschooled her four children until they were high school age. They are very well rounded children and didn't have difficulties adjusting to regular schooling because my aunt had structure in her home schooling and alos had them very involved in other programs to mingle with other children their age. Definately do your research and figure out what is best for you and your children.

You just have to let the school system know that you are homeschooling your child. My school system puts the year's curriculum on the net so you have a good idea of how to parallel the school.

I homeschooled my daughter for a year. It was very rewarding but some days I really just had enough of her poor school work ethic. I don't think I could have done it long term unless I started from kindergarten with her.

I do alot of homeschooling during the summer just so the boys remember what they learned over the last year and we touch on what they will be learning. I see nothing wrong with homeschooling as long as you find other outlets socialy for the children to be involved in.

I was homeschooled for one year and my best friend was homeschooled for most of highschool. I think that it can be a very enriching thing to do for your child. There are many homeschooling groups that do things together to help the children build their social skills.

You don't have to be a teacher or anything to do so. But you do have ot meet certain curriculum guidelines.

I homeschool my children, and have for the past five years. Homeschool laws are different in every state of the US, and in every country. You might want to look at www.hslda.com. They have homeschooling laws listed for each US state, and hints on how to homeschool.

There are days I love homeschooling, and there are I days I wish I could cart the kids off to public school and leave them. Overall, though, I've been very pleased with my homeschool experience. I plan to continue until they tell me I can't.
