It really does, yes. I know that a lot of people don't want to believe it and put the blame elsewhere, but it's really true. Even some of the shows specifically for kids are getting a bit too strange.

I'm mostly worried about the constant need to be entertained. Now I will sound like I'm very old - but what I remember from my childhood was running around outside, climbing trees and playing with the other kids on my street.

It seems like kids now a days spend most of their time in front of the tv, computer or games Even young babies have toys with buttons to press to learn shapes and colors, toys that flashes and plays music.

I think I had it much easier growing up but not having all these things.

I agree that it plays a part in kids growing up way to fast. One thing besides all the ad, movies and shows is what they see on the local news.

I am glad that the media seems to have not affected my 5-year-old (who only watches cartoons), however I do agree that kids these days are already growing up a lot faster than previous generations, and I suppose that the media has played a big role at getting it this way.
Children really should be supervised by adults when in front of a television set, it could do wonders to the child's personality.
