So many worries
I feel as if being a parent today there are so many issues to worry about. Do you think there are more worries now (drugs, violence, international problems) now than in the past?

Now to sound VERY deep but I have a quote that might help.

"The players might have changed, but the game remains the same"

Great quote! I really have to agree with you.
I also think that our communication and media is more advanced than years ago so this makes it seem like more things happen these days.
I don't think as parents we should stress on what we do not want for our kids, rather work on showing them the correct paths to take on their lives.

in the 60ties: drugs, guns STDs and war.
now: stronger drugs, deadlier guns, deadlier STDs and still useless war.

It will go on.

I'm really starting to feel the stress now that my kids are reaching puberty. My will be 14 soon and so far hasn't been a problem. He is more into reading then socializing, but that could change soon as he goes into high school. My daughter on the other hand is the scary one so far. She's more interested in boys then school work. It's just so terrifying.

That is a wonderful quote dad2b and very true. I think that parents always have had and always will have things to worry about. I believe the parents through the generations have felt panic of things that their children will face. The situations change but the fear will always be there.

These problems never end. It only grows more stronger and if one problem ends by any means then some other errupts from somewhere else. There was no terrorism 70 years back but there were world wars and now there is no world war but its changed to terrorism

You will often find grandparents commenting on how they are worried about their babies, when their 'baby' is 65. I guess it's a case of a parents work never being done.

Did you see the u.k news it was discussing how parents would not let their children out of their sights to play until they were minimum age of 14 years old. So do you think that parents take the childs childhood away by not letting them do anything.
