When I had my first, I did alot of the same stuff my mom did, still do when it comes to her in fact. And that's not a good thing... My mom was more of the scream & yell & verbally abuse type of parent. She even scared my best friend & we didn't become friends till college. I'm working on changing the way I react to my daughter being herself. Its a slow change, but I'm changing for the better. I'm hoping to completely be away from screaming & all that before my 2 year old & 6 month old are old enough to tell me they hate me & mean it.

My style is nothing new, but I'm proud to say that it still could sometimes be unique. My style basically just has one goal, and that is to make each kid feel very much loved as much as possible. In actions and through words, I tell them I love them, and it feels very good when they get tired of hearing you say it and they answer you with an irritated "I know!".
I believe that once a child feels loved, you will immediately earn this child's respect and it is almost instant that this child loves you just as much in return.
