Potty Training
I have started properly at potty training this week. I knew that it would take a lot of time and commitment from me so I thought that as things are quiet I could afford the time. Also it is warm which is better for them.

I started on Sunday by making a sticker chart and wrapping some presents. If the boys use the loo or potty they get a sticker and 10 stickers gets a present. they were really excited about getting presents which was great.

They kept asking for their nappies back on yesterday, but after 2 accidents Sam got the idea and used the potty 12 times meaning that he got his first present. He has had a few accidents today, but has used the potty more times than not. I am sure he will be dry and clean by the end of the week.

Poor Toby desperately wants a present. He has only got 2 stickers and both of those were coincidences - the first I left him on the potty while I was busy and he happened to use it and the other time he told me he was going and I managed to get him there in time to use it. He has never seemed as ready as his brother.

My problem is that if I give up and put Toby back in nappies, which is what some people have advised me to do, will Sam beg to be put back in them as well. I have no idea whether persevering with Toby will even work. Any advise or ideas?

How old is Toby? He might be too young to realize he has to use the bathroom. But I think that once you start training them you have to keep at it. Yes, it can be a real pain but it has to be done eventually. It might take time, weeks and weeks, but you cannot give up.

That's such a cute story racheldarcy! You are full of delightful ideas that I am sure you won't have trouble thinking of new ones to get those boys potty-trained in no time.
But since you asked, I really personally think that you should persevere with Toby and not give up especially since Sam is definitely showing some signs of progress. It would be unfair to Sam (though he may not realize it at all) to have learned to use the loo and risk loosing all of that progress.
If you stop now, you'll have to go back to square one with the two boys, and I don't think that's such a good idea.

Sam and Toby are twins -if I understood well ,however ,like I said in other message this doesn't mean you should treat them alike , so my advice is not to give up the progress you made in training Sam to use the potty just because Toby is a little slower .
Is not fair for Sam and for you too . Besides , Toby will learn more quickly is he sees Sam on the potty and not back in nappies.
