Playing all the time
My son who is now 22 months, plays all the time, as soon as he opens his eyes, he's ready to go. is that too much? He is a really happy baby.

How can a child possibly play too much?! So long as he is enjoying himself, happy & healthy I really would not worry yourself.

This is wonderful to hear! My boys were (and still are) quite active. Esp. the oldest, he would jump out of bed and be ready to go!

nope that is about normal. I tell you a story about a 2 year old I know. He was sitting at the table eating a sandwich for lunch.Well supposingly eating. Instead he pulled small pieces from the bread and lined them up on the table. It was going slooooow and I was ready for him to finish the meal. I snap ' "Karl would you please.."
Before I was able to finish he interrupted me saying "hush", pointing at his pieces of bread and explaining "they are sleeping".
So yes, playing all the time at that age is about right.

Yep, they are like the energizer bunny at this age. Both of my sons at that age were ready and raring to go as soon as there little eyes opened. Now they take a little longer to get up and moving around.

Thanks for the experiences shared here, I was just wondering since he is my first child and everything seems so new.

My 8 year old is still this way. He is always the first one up in the mornings and he is super busy. He always has a "project" going on. He has an amazing imagination!

playing all the time
I would not worry that is normal. I would worry when they stop wanting to play all the time. Be happy and enjoy. They grow up way to fast.

I can't imagine that "too much play" for a baby would be possible... that's what they do and having a happy baby is an awesome thing. Sounds as if your son is turning into a wonderfully well adjusted little man.

I know where you are coming from though in that with your first child you are just so amazed at everything that they do and sometimes you cannot help but wonder if some of the stuff is normal. I your case though I think everything is fine.
