Biggest surprise
What was your biggest surprise upon becoming a parent? What were you totally unprepared for? My biggest surprise was realizing just how much I loved my kids when they were born. It was the single most powerful feeling in my life. I loved them instantly and knew that I would do anything to protect them. That was my biggest surprise.

My biggest surprise was how I've changed a lot with regards to my attitude and outlook in life. I am more way, way patient now than I was before, more of a give person rather than receive, and more humble.

I think my biggest surprise would have to be the change in my cleaning habits. I used to not really care if the dishes were done before bed or if the floor was vacuumed, now I can't go to sleep if they aren't done.

As much as I hate not coming up with anything original to contribute to this thread, I'd have to be honest and say that that was my biggest surprise too. I had no idea how much I'd love my children.
During my first pregnancy, I dreaded the thought of having to clean a baby when it poops (I was 16 years old then), and I hoped to no end that we would have a nanny who could change the baby's diapers for me when the baby was already around, but to my biggest surprise, when my baby finally came, I could not allow anyone to do anything with my baby. I wanted to do everything myself, including giving her a bath, changing her diapers, and all that stuff. I realized I was one of those you would call an "overprotective parent". I felt that no one could do a finer job than myself, so I simply dismissed anyone who would offer to help me with my child.

I was very surprised at how I was, but I just understood that it was because I loved my child so much.

The biggest surprise to be a mom was that I was able to sacrifice my time and my career dreams for my baby .While pregnant ,I thought that even after I 'd had the bay I will continue my life as I planned , however after was born I forgot about everything and put his needs before mine.

That was how it was for me as well, I expected my life to continue the way I had it planned but after giving birth, I was surprised at how much time I was willing to sacrifice in order to be there for my child all day and all night long. I had to stop going to school and did not even bother enrolling because of the simple fact that it was never even considered by me, I simply could not leave my daughter's side and because of this, my life had to stop right on its tracks.
I have no regrets, at all, however. I feel as though all of my efforts and all that I have done for my daughter have been worth it.

Only God know how it feel to have your own flesh and blood. You are willing to do anything for them after carried them for 9 month in your stomach. I believe those who are still without baby don't know how much and to what extent we are willing to go for our little one.

Initailly, I can't believe it myself but at times go by, I am willing to even go hungry for them.
