What is the biggest challenge for today's parents?
With the rapid rate of change we are seeing in the world today parent's now have to face challenges that the ones before them did not. What do you see as the biggest challenge today that was not an issue in generations past?

How about trying to bring up children in today's society, with decent standards based on traditional moral codes and values? Try doing that, when all around you, obviously don't give two hoots what their kids get up to! (Well, I say "all", but hey, sometimes thats what it feels like!)

My biggest worry is the speed at which kids grow up. In our day 16-18 was the age when kids really thought about sex. Nowdays you get 11-12 year olds having to deal with the same issues.

I don't know what is the biggest challenge, I do know that parenting is the hardest job in the world.

peer pressure, rampant use/abuse of drugs and alcohol, keeping kids as kids and not growing them up too fast....those are some of the biggest concerns I have with being a parent today...

I agree with this statement, it's exactly the biggest challenge a parent these days has to face. This wouldn't be as hard to accomplish for the parents in previous generations, but for parents in our generation it is a huge challenge and probably an almost impossible one.
