Today's parenting
I know when I was a kid and my ultimate pleasure was to sit with my mom and listen a soft and cold stories and songs and took dad with me to a ride on a country side , I love doing this and I know my parents would also love doing the same with us.

Now things have changed enough, parents don't have enough time to cope for their kids and their innocent desires to have a good time with their moms and dads (that's why the baby sitters concept introduced) and kids also don't like spending time with their parents, they love to watch tv, surfing internet, reading story books etc.

I always take care to spend as much time as possible with my three children. We frequently spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying nature and have even been camping. We have an allotment that we grow fruit and vegetables on, and the children enjoy gardening. The children love reading and make things with glue and paper.
So many parents around here where I live just chuck them out to play on the street and say don't come back until dinner or bedtime. What is the point in having children if you don't make an effort to turn them into decent human beings and enjoy them?

It seems the world is forever changing and the kids are changing with it. If parents can spend as much time away from technology things the better off they are although I don't think many parents actually enjoy their kids these days

World is changing , but i as a parent you should take care of your children . You can just give them birth and leave to grow themselves . You need to give them time and value.

It's kind of really different now than it was before. I am also guilty of not spending time with my daughter due to working long hours. Though, I try to alway make up for lost time during the weekends.

I'm also guilty of not spending time with my girls, despite being home all day because I work from home. Until recently, I would spend all day on the computer working, while my girls played in the living room or their bedroom. I realized that I wasn't doing them any good by being nothing more than an adult presence in the home. I wasn't playing with them or cuddling them anymore. So I made a decision to limit my time on the computer. I bought me a kitchen timer & that helps alot. I set it for an hour to work, then set it for 15 minutes to spend with the girls, anymore than that & they want to be rid of me, LOL. I also use it to clean the house & I have to admit that my house is getting better & so are the kids.

Todays parenting
I think that parenting today is so much different then when I was young. Too me there is so much less family time. And I think that is so important.

I find it easy honestly to do stuff in the summer with my boys. In the winter time it gets somewhat harder. There is only so many things you can do after awhile. I struggle with this during the cold months. We do tend to play a lot of board games though.

It is more difficult these days. This is one reason my hubby and I made the decision that I be a stay at home mom. I really love the time I spend with my little ones. We also try to make Sunday night a family night. The kids look forward to this.
