This might just be a crackpot notion...

Does anyone think the way I do about this?
Something tells me that when a baby is newborn, a new little soul in a sweet baby body, that for the first few weeks carry an awareness that fades as the baby gets more used to its' body.In other words, I think that the baby can understand what we whisper to us. Is this too weird?
When I get to hold a new baby I will tell it that it will grow up strong and beautiful, how much it is loved, things like that. We have a proper little conversation, the baby and I, only I'm the only one doing the talking. I swear that the baby lets me know it understands.
Does anyone agree, or am I off to the "boobyhatch"?

I wouldn't be making reservations at that boobyhatch quite yet! I have no way to know if they can actually understand what we're saying, but I certainly always assumed that my daughter was able to understand everything that was said to her.
