Did you deal with post partum depression after your child was born?

I did to the nth degree. When I had my first child, I grew very depressed and I found myself always crying alone. I, however, did not go to that phase where I would hate my child, instead I loved her very much and was ultimately overprotective of her.
But I was always down, and I was always in tears.

Basically, I was sad for a reason (my boyfriend and I broke up and he was never around), but I believe Post-Partum Depression played a huge role at getting me depressed at that time as well because my depression was absolutely abnormal.
