Their Favourite Book?

What was the book that your kids used to drag around after you with pleas to read it for the 1000th time? In hindsight that is so sweet, but it could get a bit old when you had lots to do at the time.
When we went to my daughter's to welcome our new grandson, our granddaughter was enchanted by a book about Grover going on a hayride at Halloween time. My son would read it to her with appropriate voices and sound effects. Our granddaughter kept after "Uncie Dosh" to read it over and over. When her Grandpapa or I offered to read it she would have none of it; it was her Uncle she wanted to hear from.
Finally, one day, when her daughter was taking a nap, my daughter said to my son, "If you don't loose that Grover book I'm going to strike you." She'd had a hard pregnancy and the demands of a newborn were wearing on her patience.
So "Uncie Dosh" hid the book behind the sofa, only to be found when we were almost out of the door to get to the airport, so he had time to read it to her one more time.

Cute story. :-) My daughter had a few favorites but I think the one I read to her most was called "We Help Mommy." I can still remember parts of it because I read it so often.

My sons all time favorite book was "Where the Wild Things Are." Both my sons actually really like this book. Probably because it was a favorite of mine when young so I made sure that I read it to them also.

Is this one a picture book... or a chapter book? When we got into reading
chapter books aloud, a favorite was always the Little House series.

I can't remember the name of the Dr Seuss book that had the "Sneeches" story in it. I thought that was a fine moral lesson and we read it and talked about people who were different and how OK it was. They also loved "Bartholomew and the Ooblek" by Dr Seuss.

Amazing that I haven't heard of either of these! I thought I read all the Dr. Seuss to my daughter! I do know parts of a few of them by heart, as we all probably do. What begins with A? Aunt Annie's Alligator, A A A.
