That is true. My mother actually raises my daughter and my in-laws are the ones raising my son. I have tried bringing my daughter along with me but she preferred staying with my mom, while my in-laws are very attached to my son, and since they never leave us alone with him, it was a neutral decision to have our son stay with them.

There was a time when grandparents were quite active as part of the extended family, and not because of teen pregnancy, but because extended families were the way of life.

Teen pregnancies aren't the sole reason for grandparents raising grand kids. It used to be that the whole family raised the kids, just as whole tribes raise them, where tribes are still allowed to exist, unmolested.
