While it is good to protect kids from harm, it is also necessary for them to have the chance to prepare for the death of a loved one.

It may be a good idea to start discussing the facts of life, and to talk about grandpa not being a young.

The illness isn't important, but life's end is, IMHO.

Well we are waiting on one more test. They really are leaning towards Lung Cancer which scares the ****ens out of me. They said next week they will either know from this last test or he may just have to go and get a third of his lung taken out before we know for sure.

I did have to explain to the boys the other day that he may have surgery because they overheard me on the phone. They seemed to take it well and they did talk to me about it and asked some questions. Thank you all again.

I am sorry the news is not looking good, I hope that your dad will respond well to treatment.

I'm sorry too, I hope he will do well with his treatment. I'm sure you are worried sick, but just take it one day at a time you will find the strength to support him.
