| Wow, at nine years old? I'd have to say that's very alarming. She is still too young to start having full blown insecurities and result into actions that could possibly cause danger to her health. I would be just as confused as you, and I would probably worry about how to approach the problem the right way, as well.
As much as I'd like to suggest you having a one-on-one with your daughter, I just don't feel that it would make more of a positive outcome, instead I fear that she might just end up hiding her habits more carefully now that she knows that you are aware of them.
