I do not like the idea of my children doing it. Problem is that their Daddy loves McDonalds and take out pizza. We are having it far less often so hopefully they will not have it much at all and I definitely do not want them thinking that it is a treat.

There's nothing wrong of eating in the fast food as long as there's always a limitation. If you're kids are doing well at schoo, why not treat them in Jollibee of Mc donalds as a reward?

I feel that way too many parents are taking the easy way out and are going out to pick up fast food, which is not at all healthy for children.

This is an interesting idea. However, I do not really want the children to think of certain foods as a treat, especially unhealthy ones. I am sure that is why I crave chocolate and have weight issues.

It does seem mean to deprive them and it is very hard to get a good balance.

Does Subway have options that are non-meat? Well scratch that, I assume they do since your family eats there, but what do they have? Something like a veggie sub?

Whilst people may think I am wrong I am willing to risk that judgement by saying yes, I do take my daughter to Mcdonald's, Burgerking, Kentucky, Chinese food, Subway and other fast food chains? Why? Because I was one of these people that decided before I had a child that I would keep them away from all sweet things and all bad things, but the truth I learned was not so easy. The fact, is that one day your child will go to school unless you intend to home school them and they will mix with other children who want to eat at fast food chains or eat sweets and your child having never eaten these will probably rebel and eat them big time. Whereas if they have grown up with them they will probably not think it such a big deal. I will only take my daughter about once a fortnight or once a month and I make sure she has chicken nuggets or something healthier like that.

I worry about my daughter she has not had it easy and she is tons times smaller than all the other kids. She needs to be fed but, she doesn't eat that much. When we take her to these places she doesn't even finnish her meals. My mum and dad give her sweets. She is still in 12 - 18 months clothes even though she is 2 1/2. She didn't get into 1 year clothes until she was about 2. Because she was born premature. So a little bit of badness is not so harmful to her. If she was big, fat or obese then that would be a different thing. If she has Adhd again a different thing, but if I want to spoil my daughter like that then I will. I want her to put weight on so much, but no matter what we give her she won't put the weight on. We had to see a specialist for the first year of her life and now we see nobody. I pray that she will put weight on, but everyone who sees her says she is in the correct proportion considering she was premature she is just a little girl with a massive personality and she is more than able to stick up for herself. She is my best friend and I love her to bits there is no way I would put her in danger. Lauretta has turned my life around for the better. I cannot comprehend the love I feel for her. I certainly don't consider myself doing any harm to her by spoiling her now and again.

I bring my daughter often at fast food chains because my mother does not cook and neither do I. We are the kind of family that would just starve if we stayed at home, and so I definitely do not see anything wrong with resulting to fast foods because we have been doing it ever since.
However, fast foods have never been our only option, when we go out to eat we also often times pick restaurants over fast foods, especially because happy meals can get very boring overtime.

On the contary, we go extremely rare at fast foods ,we cook everyday sometimes even three times a day in the house . We do not eat leftovers, only a variety of fresh cooked food.

That was a very sweet and personal post by Mickie31 and I completely support how she feels about the whole thing with fast foods. Sometimes parents will have to go with their gut feeling with what they think and feel is right for their child, despite popular claims, and usually no parent is ever wrong. It is perhaps because of the great love that we feel for our child that we always make the best decision for them, there might be times when we are in doubt but we always somehow pull through. It is just a matter of following instincts and gut feelings, and it's nice to see that some people still do this.

Do I let my kids eat fast food? I can't stop them as I, myself, love fast food. However, I do admit that it is not good for your health. So we go out once a week to enjoy our fast food during our shopping spree. It won't do any harm if you don't take them often. As in everything in life, we should practice moderation and I believe with it, we will be able to live longer and free of diseases.
