I do allow my son some fast food. Everything in moderation and not often. It's something that he will be exposed to as he gets older and I don't want to create a power struggle over it, so I allow it. I want to show him that he can have this kind of food, but it is a treat and not the norm. It does help that some of the fast food places offer healthier options so he can have chicken nuggets AND fruit, which is a slightly better option.

Problem with most diets is your immediate environment. If you eat healthy and your husband/wife eats a burger sitting next to you it will drive you mad. Same with the children.

If you want them to eat healthy, you all have to eat healthy.

We go once every month as a treat for the boys. I know it isn't good for them but it is a reward for them. I think it is fine as long as it is done in moderation.

I tend to agree with the concept of limiting it, not forbidding it, because we immediately want what we cant have. I dont allow it all the time. But an occasional treat is nice. And there are just times when it isnt practical to make a homemade meal.

We only let our children have fast food on rare occasions. We have explained to our 7 year old what junk food is and how our bodies process such foods. For him, it is considered a treat. I don't mind since 99% of the time we eat natural and whole foods, mostly all organic. For the most part, my children prefer fruits and veggies over other foods.

I love junk food, the wife loves junk food, I don't think the kids have much of a chance of getting away from it unfortunatelly.

Fast food isn't that good for neither adults or children. Although sometimes, everyone needs a break and fast food isn't that bad for once in awhile. And lol Pizza can be a life saver at times.

As a family, we used to eat fast food at least once a week for years. My daughter was rather chubby during this time, and my wife and I made a commitment to move away from fast food as a convenient staple.
Since that decision, we haven't eaten fast food more than three times a year, usually when travelling and on the go. I think the family has realized great benefits with this change of lifestyle, and despite fastfood being available around every corner, our kids have less tendency to rely upon it than in the past. I think if it becomes less readily anticipated, kids can make adjustments and make healthier choices.

In today's society it's impossible not to have your kids exposed to fast food. That said, we try to limit the kids' consuming. Luckily, BK and MD's have better alternatives to fries and soda now and my kids actually prefer the oranges and apple dippers.

I have to admit that I take the kids for fast food every once in awhile. It isn't something I do everyday but I don't see nothing wrong with it as long as it is done in moderation.
