Obese Kids
I commonly see obese kids and yes, they are cute. But it bothers me that they won't be able to shed off those fats as they grow older. Do you tend to make your kids really fat?

cute is the problem here. There are always excuses for people eiher being too fat or too thin. We should call a spade as hovel and not 'baby' the kids.

And especially with children it's the parents responsibility to make sure that the kid does NOT have yet another mcdonalds. If he screams and shout and throws a tantrum, you don't reward him with a sweet but punish him.her in an appropriate way.

This is a serious problem for which I wish there was an easy answer. I'm fortunate that my daughter is extremely active and eats well. I see a lot of other children (usually at the play area at the mall rather than the parks where we go on nice days) whose weight saddens me.

I was a chubby child (although looking back at childhood photos I now realize that I was never as fat as I thought I was) and always felt so ill at ease inside my own skin. I was picked on by other children and always made to feel inadequate and unattractive. Many of my self-image problems as an adult have their roots in my childhood chubbiness and I just hate to think of these children and their future lives of self-hatred growing out of habits and a lifestyle which would be so much easier to change now than they will be in 10 or 20 years.

I feel bad for kids that are overweight. They face health problems and problems throughout life unless their parents provide the proper eating and activity lifestyles for them.

obese children are usually in that state due to improper attention by parents.
Though there are genetical obesity cases too, but that is not as common as obesity itself.

There is NO reason for a child to be fat. This is 100% the parents responsibility and they must monitor the childs eating habits and activity levels.

It is easy to blame the parents but you also have to understand their dilemma. If your child said they were hungry would you not feed them? No imagine if they are constantly hungry? Could you constantly deny your child what they tell you they need because you knew it would hurt them in the long run. Parent's of obese children often want their kids to be healthy but they also find it nearly impossible to deny them.

Where's the problem with denying your child? No means no, doesn't it?
Is telling your child they've had enough, being cruel to be kind? Or just plain common sense?

For the price of two Sony PSP games you can buy them a bike!
